EXCELLENT Based on 9 reviews Manav Choksi2025-04-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. New Moon Daycare is more than just childcare. It's a 30 year old childcare institution that has been crafted by Vera, her philosophies and her team's love. Our now 2.5yo son has been full time at New Moon for 9 months. We had originally enrolled him in a preschool that, within a few weeks became clear, was not the right fit for him. When we visited New Moon, our son immediately ran in and started playing with the other kids. It felt natural and as if he had been there before. The open, inviting, and loving environment at New Moon was a key differentiator for us when we looked across various childare options. New Moon is a big part of our son's continued development. He learned so much during his time there. He leaves each day with a smile or sometimes a frown because he wants to stay and play with his friends and teachers. Both bring smiles to our faces. We are so grateful for New Moon and would recommend it for anyone seeking a daycare that provides immense love and teachings to their child. Thank you Vera, Ale, Flor and the rest of the New Moon team! Sarah DeLuca2025-04-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. New Moon Daycare has been an amazing experience for us as a family and for our two girls. Vera, the owner is incredibly organized and communicative and her and her staff all care so much about each of the kids and are so loving towards them. The daycare finds a nice balance between structure and free time, each month has a theme, including a color letter and certain books that they’re reading which they share with the parents, they also bring in music teachers and other special activities. They take babies at a young age, each of my kids started there at three months, and I felt so supported by the staff and felt that my baby was in a safe place where they were being cared for with a lot of attention. They even helped both my girls to bottle feed and they individualized their approach for each baby based on the baby’s temperament and unique needs. Once the kids get older, they provide two meals a day plus snacks, which was amazing. And my kid was a very adventurous eater, I think in part to all the food they were exposed to at daycare. The hours of the daycare aare extremely helpful as both my husband and I are working parents and so the extended hours were crucial for us. Also, the daycare is not closed over the summer months so we had full-time summer coverage and they do take two months off in April but often have back up childcare available at the same location with the regular providers. So if you are full-time working parents, this is an amazing program. They also offer part-time options for folks who may not be working full-time. I cannot recommend this daycare enough. I feel so supported by them in taking care of my kids and I don’t know how my husband and I would have navigated work and childcare without Vera and all of her employees. I also want to share that they really took into account our parenting preferences while also providing us with support and guidance when asked for which as a first time and even second time parent we found very, very helpful. Definitely reach out to Vera if you are thinking of having your child at New Moon Daycare. She and her staff are hands-down, the best. He really loves his time there, and Vera and all of the teachers are so sweet. It's a great setup, and the backyard space where the children play is amazing. We really love that they prepare healthy food for him. He has become a really good eater under their care. Highly recommended! Vera and her team at New Moon Day Care provide the upmost care and attention to the children in their care. They have a fantastic space for play and enrichment! Not to mention their location is PERFECT for those on their way to SF for work.
As a new mom going back to work for the first time, I was incredibly nervous to leave our daughter with someone else to look after her. It quickly became clear that Vera and the other women at New Moon Daycare were taking great care of her. When we picked her up at the end of each day she was well rested and happy! It is so reassuring to see the people taking of you child excited to see her when you drop her off in the morning and hug and kiss her goodbye not wanting to see her go when you pick her up at the end of the day.
She started at New Moon when she was 4 months old and is now two. As an older child, stimulating environment is perfect for our very active little girl. Every day she brings home an art project and they keep her busy with a combination of music, reading, art, outdoor play and trips to the park and library. I can’t believe the things that she learns each day. When we found out that we were going to have another child we made sure that Vera had room for us and it was an amazing relief to know that our second daughter was going to such a loving environment with amazing, capable women to look after her. We feel very lucky to have our children at New Moon Daycare and will be sorry when it is time for them to go on to preschool.

We feel extremely lucky to have our eldest daughter at New Moon Daycare. The amount she learns from Vera and the New Moon women is astonishing. Just in the last couple of months, she’s surprised my husband and me with the fact that she’s learned the alphabet, how to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the concept and behaviors of “being nice”, and the process of sharing by first asking to share. Even her art has dramatically improved! It’s the thoughtful and robust programming week over week that has truly helped our child flourish and accelerate in development. As a baby who spent the first 14 months exclusively being cared for by family due to Covid concerns, she had a harder time transitioning to daycare. But Vera and the women who work there always made drop-offs easier by making sure she was met with excitement, sometimes literally cheering, and a quick distraction. We celebrated each little milestone as the drop-offs became more seamless, and felt completely supported by Vera throughout the process. Now drop-offs are a breeze and when we pick her up at the end of the day, she often attempts to stay and play longer. Eventually, when she says “bye” to Vera and the women who work there and her friends, she does so person, by person – it’s clear she has developed special bonds with everyone at New Moon. When our younger daughter joins her sister at daycare at 6 months old, we know she will be not just well-cared for and stimulated, but also loved.
